Expedia TAAP's deferred payment allows agents to book pre-paid properties but select to pay closer to the arrival date. Expedia will charge the preferred credit card on your chosen date, improving your agency's cash flow and providing the travelers you serve with flexible payment options.
Important things to know about deferred payment
- Your agency is provided with a deferred payment credit which can be monitored from the TAAP homepage.
- Your balance is updated once payment is made, or a booking is canceled.
- You can download reports on all your agency’s deferred payment bookings.
- You have control of payment dates and amend credit card details.
- Email notifications help agents keep track of upcoming payments.
Amending dates for bookings made using deferred payment
You cannot amend a booking online that has been made using deferred payment. Our support team is also unable to make a change for you. If you need to make a date change, you must cancel the booking as shown in Step 2 and make a new one.
Canceling bookings using deferred payment
If you need to cancel a reservation made using deferred payment, access the Trips menu from the homepage, find the reservation, and select Cancel Reservation. You can then make a new booking with the new required date.
To amend credit card used or payment date
From the homepage, look for the deferred payments section. You can view your balance, report on upcoming bookings, and access training resources from this section.
Click on the Manage deferred bookings link.
You can click the Edit link from the property booking list to change the information accordingly.
Changing the payment date: As a default, your payment date is seven days before the cancelation is due. Click Edit and proceed by following the steps to change the date sooner. You will not be able to change the date to later.
Changing the credit card: You may need to change the credit card used, click on Edit, and change the information. Double-check that the number added is correct. If the payment fails, you risk the reservation being canceled. Don't worry, we will notify you via email if this happens.
